The Wichtex Rathole Digger as shown in the photograph above is suitable to use with all drilling rigs, skid, trailer, or substructure mounted. A V-belt or chain drive is optional for the customer. Customer to specify desired pitch of the chain drive. The Rathole Digger frame is tilted at an angle to easily accommodate the kelly. Bushings are also furnished for the kelly.
The above drawing is a Section View thru the Rathole DIgger, clearly showing the interior of the assembly. The upper bearing is a Timken, and is completely sealed with two large grease seals. The lower bearing is a Bronze Bushing and is pressed into position and retained by the bottom locking ring. Both bearings are easily greased from the outside. The frame is of structural steel construction and is hinged at the back.
